The new version of The Office has been given the green light at Peacock. It won’t be a reboot or spinoff — but a fresh mockumentary series with a different cast set in the same universe. Plot details have been revealed, introducing a documentary crew searching for a subject and stumbling upon a struggling Midwestern newspaper and its publisher. Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore are set to lead the ensemble cast, with character specifics remaining a secret. Production is scheduled to begin in July. The new series comes from creators Greg Daniels and Michael Koman, and will be executive produced by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. (Variety)
