Helping drive the success of “Hate That I Made You Love Me”? Its “stellar rhyme design,” notes Hit Songs Deconstructed, which analyzes top 10 Hot 100 hits. “Rather than saving all of its catchiness for the chorus, the song uses strategic end-of-line rhymes, internal rhymes, repetition, alliteration and precise rhyme placement to make the verse, pre-chorus and chorus each feel highly engaging in their own right.”
