On June 27, Country Music Hall of Famer Alan Jackson sold out Nashville’s Nissan Stadium, as tens of thousands of fans filled the venue and thousands more gathered on Broadway downtown to watch livestreams of Jackson’s final concert as he celebrated his decades of influence on country music. He had previously retired from the road, following a diagnosis of Charcot Marie Tooth Disease, but celebrated with that one final show at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium in June.
On Dec. 8, fans who didn’t get to see the show will be able to take in the special event, when NBC airs Alan Jackson: The Last Show from 8 to 10 p.m. ET/PT. The special will also stream the following day on Peacock.
The concert features Jackson offering a headlining set that includes his classic hits such as “Chattahoochee,” “Remember When” and “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere.”
Jackson will also be joined by fellow country stars including Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Luke Combs, Riley Green, Cody Johnson, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Jake Owen, Jon Pardi, Thomas Rhett, Carrie Underwood, Lainey Wilson, Lee Ann Womack and Adam Wright. The upcoming concert telecast will also feature Jackson in a special collaboration with George Strait; during that June show, Strait had joined Jackson for performances of “Designated Drinker” and “Murder on Music Row.” Throughout that evening, the country music community and fans joined to celebrate Jackson’s nearly 40 years of making country music hits.
“If anybody’s living a really good dream … I’m living it,” Jackson said during that show. “I just want to thank everybody, especially all of you fans … y’all have been so supportive of my music all of these years … y’all always treated me nice and respected the music.”
The concert’s music will also be featured on Jackson’s upcoming live album, The Last Show: One More for the Road – The Finale (Live From Nashville), which will release via MCA just before the broadcast. Alan Jackson: The Last Show is produced by Joan of Arc StudioWorks and EverWonder Studio, and directed by Sam Wrench.
