Camila Cabello is opening up about being body shamed.
The Cinderella star told Bustle that after paparazzi shots of her in a bikini were criticized, she “felt insecure.” She said, “I felt like it was changing how I was thinking about food and eating …really messing me up."
She faced the critiques had on, by addressing her more than 12 million TikTok followers to say that she was “existing like a normal person that doesn’t tuck it in all the time.”
Cabello recalled feeling “liberated” after posting on social media. She explained, “I went to the airport and so many women were coming up to me like, ‘I saw that TikTok and it resonated with me so much. I actually feel my body insecurities went down after I posted that because I was like, ‘No matter what pictures come out or what people say, I’m now controlling the narrative.’”
This wasn’t the first time the singer called for body acceptance. In 2019, she took to her Instagram Story to defend herself for having cellulite after people body-shamed her.
