On Friday (Aug. 6), Frank Ocean announced the launch of his independent American luxury company Homer and its debut collection.
The first Homer collection is composed of high-end jewelry and silk scarves, each handcrafted using 18k gold, recycled sterling silver, hand-painted enamel and American lab-grown diamonds. Homer pieces are designed in New York City and handmade in Italy. In a press release, Ocean revealed that the designs are inspired by his childhood obsessions and heritage.
Ocean’s exclusive pieces will be presented in a catalog in-store or online, upon request for access via the official Homer website. However, items can be purchased exclusively at the Homer jewelry store, which shoppers can visit by appointment. There will be limited availability for walk-in guests. Homer, the store, is located at 70-74 Bowery in New York City.
The Homer store will open Monday, with operating hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Saturday.
For prospective buyers, global orders can be made by calling or messaging the store using the Signal app. Beginning Monday, the number to dial is (212) 410-3300. Homer promises to provide complimentary shipping for international orders.
Ocean’s new business venture comes five years after the release of his second studio album, Blonde, which debuted in August 2016. The smash hit album peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in September 2016 and charted for 239 weeks.
His debut studio album, Channel Orange, peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 in July 2012 and charted for 61 weeks.
